Hooters Challenges Lee County Community to Help Raise $120,000 in Three Months for The Salvation Army

Three area Hooters locations are taking on an aggressive challenge to raise $120,000 in only 3 months, for The Salvation Army. The objective is to help meet the Salvation Army’s 2013 fundraising goal. Hooters of Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach and Cape Coral will match the community’s donations, dollar-for-dollar up to $40,000, in an effort to reach this goal by July 31, 2013.

“We are fully entrenched in this effort, with involvement through donations at the restaurants, events and through community activation,” stated Kristi Quarles, Director of Marketing for Hooters South Florida. “The Salvation Army is an amazing organization whose vital work directly impacts our neighborhoods. They need our help, and we cannot meet this goal without the support of the community.”

Hooters will donate $1 from every kid’s meal sold from June 1st through July 31st to the program, and match the funds raised. In addition, the company will host various fundraising events and invites the Lee County community to help support the cause.

“The Salvation Army is deeply grateful for the compassion in action that the good people of Hooters are showing. They are not only the leaders of enterprise but now they are leading the way to helping the most vulnerable in our community,” Major Tom Louden, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry & Glades Counties
